Martin is the University's first Marketing Director. A graduate of Geography from the University of Sheffield, he joined Marks and Spencer in 1984 where he undertook a variety of store management and head office appointments in both commercial and marketing roles.
In 1992 Martin moved to National Australia Bank and held a number of marketing, line management and strategy roles across the European division culminating in being Head of Brand and Personal Sector Development for Yorkshire, Clydesdale, Northern and National Irish banks.
Martin joined the University in March 2005. His role involves executive responsibility for marketing leadership, student recruitment and admissions, the international office, alumni relations and access and community engagement.
