With a student population of over 200,000, Leeds is vibrant and cosmopolitan. Its clubs and drinking places cater for every taste, from student haunts and trendy wine and cocktail bars to friendly traditional pubs.
As well as the LUU's own nightclub, Stylus, the city centre has more than ten clubs with everything from soul funk nights to dance, indie and hip-hop.
Eating out
Whether you're after Japanese or Italian cuisine, a noodle bar or a sophisticated eatery like the Harvey Nichols café, Leeds has something for every taste and budget. For something different, the Granary Wharf has a selection of restaurants with waterside views or the Corn Exchange is a stunning restaurant location.
