Around the city centre Leeds has excellent public transport, so it’s easy to get around the city and beyond
Leeds has a compact city centre and excellent public transport making it easy to get around.
Leeds has a large bus station on Dyer Street for local buses and National Express
There is also a free city bus which operates every few minutes Monday to Saturday. It does a loop of the city, linking the train and bus stations with the southern end of the campus and other key locations.
The LUU also runs a night bus which collects students from the entrance of the Union building and takes them to their doorstep for just 50p.
A good local train network links Leeds with outlying towns and villages as well as providing a commuter service with Harrogate, York and Huddersfield.
The campus is five minutes by taxi from the railway station, or a pleasant 20 minute walk.
Leeds station also has a fast and efficient London service; trains leave London Kings Cross for Leeds every half hour on weekdays and take a little over two hours. There is also a frequent direct service to Manchester Airport.

There are cycle lanes throughout the city centre and if you're thinking about cycling to the University, we have secure bike racks and showers. Get more information and download the Leeds City Council cycling map
Leeds is linked to the major motorways M1 and M62 and is close to the A1.
The city has a one-way system. The route runs past Leeds city station, the Merrion Centre, Quarry House, and Leeds General Infirmary.
Car parking on campus is limited, and we are also committed to reducing our carbon emissions, so we encourage staff and visitors to walk or use public transport when possible.
