Staff review and development scheme - SRDS

All staff take part in the SRDS. It's an annual review which gives you an opportunity to look back at your successes and difficulties over the past year, and to plan your objectives for the future.

Training and development

From courses and networks to workshops and mentoring we have a range of development opportunities provided by two internal services.

Staff and departmental development unit - SDDU

  • The SDDU runs a varied programme of seminars, courses and workshops for your personal and professional development. The courses are available for staff and postgraduate research students, and there is normally no charge. 
    SDDU's course listing includes training from other internal services including IT and library. Search the list of courses

LOGIK centre

  • You can study just about anything you want in the LOGIK centre. Courses include everything from Spanish to wine tasting and yoga, so you can improve your teamwork and social skills while learning something new.

Recognition for our support for staff

We have recently been awarded the HR Excellence in Research badge by the European Commission for our dedication to our researchers and the Careers Centre has won the Staff Development Award for its work in the front-line training and development of staff gaining NVQ level 3 and 4 qualifications.

Making Leeds an employer of choice
