Find out what to do next if you’ve met the requirements of your offer.
Confirming your place
If you’ve met the requirements of your offer from us and we’re therefore now your firm choice, you’ll receive a confirmation email within days of receiving your results.
Well done – we’re really looking forward to welcoming you and helping you to settle into University life.
If you’re joining us this September, we’ll email you all the information you need to help you plan what to do next from mid-August.
If you’ve deferred your place and are planning to study with us next year, we’ll be in touch with you the August before you start your studies.
We’ll give you information about:
- Registration – how and when to register and what documents you’ll need to do this
- Welcome and induction activities
If you’re an international student planning to come to Leeds on a student visa, we’ll contact you with your CAS so you don’t need to take any action to request this. This might not be immediate but you’ll have it in time for your studies.
We offer additional support to refugee and/or asylum-seeking students. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how we can help you, if you haven’t already.
Confirmation of which residence you’ve been allocated to depends on when you apply. Find out more on our accommodation website.
If you’re planning to commute to the University, make sure you join the Leeds University Union Commuters’ Society.
Things you can do now
Before you receive your welcome information there are things you can do now to help you prepare.
- Payment of tuition fees
If you’re from the UK and wish to receive government funding you should apply for this now, if you’re eligible and haven’t done so already. More information is on the GOV.UK student finance webpage.
Consider how you’ll pay your tuition fees if you’re self-funding. Your welcome information will tell you how to pay your tuition fees. Don’t bring large sums of cash into the UK if you’re coming from overseas; all fee payments are electronic.
Beware of fraudulent payment requests. If you’re not sure if a communication from the University is genuine then please contact us at UGfees@leeds.ac.uk to check.
- Documents to prepare
To help with your arrival and registration, make sure you have easy access to:
- Your passport (or national identity card if you’re from the EEA). This should include your visa/immigration permission if relevant. If you’re from the UK and you don’t have a passport, you’ll need to bring a completed copy of our identity verification form.
- Your original exam certificates if you sat your exams outside the UK. You may need these to register.
